Workers in the education sector are to carry their struggle for insured and regular recruitment in education to Ankara. All workers of education from all around Turkey will gather at the Ministry of Education at noon and shout out their demands.

The ministry had long been forcing the teachers to accept recruitment without insurance and on hourly salary, instead of contracts for regular workers. The ministry has so far failed to reply the demands of the educational laborers regarding such problems.

Trade Union of Educational and Scientific Workers (Egitim-Sen) has taken the issue as the primary item on their agenda. The union declared their objectives as “achieving insured and regular recruitment of teachers.” The union stressed their resolute to continue the struggle until results are yielded.

Uninsured recruitment is one of the most effectively used instruments by the government to undermine the struggle against complete submission of education to market conditions. Thus the educational workers are faced with the threat of losing their jobs, which creates the competitive relationship between fellow teachers.

On the other hand, the huge need for teachers all around Turkey is ignored by the government, which creates public reaction. E?itim-Sen condemned the government attitude, who fails to assign the new graduate teachers to schools in need.
