The title of the book I read is “the climb” I can guess what the book is about from the title and its cover before reading it.

I think the book is about climbing. A group of young people will go on holiday to the mountains. One of the group member will fall down while he/she is climbing.
Is the tıtle appropriate? If you were to give another title, what would the title be? Why would you give that title?
I think the tıtle of the book is appropriate. If I were to give another title, the title would be “Bound to Life” I would give that title because Ashken is bound to life with climbing.

John Escott is the writer of the story.
John Escott writes books for the syudents of all ages. Most of all, he likes writing my stery and detective stories. He also looks for old, forgotton boks in little back- street boakshops. He lives in Bournemouth, a large town on the south coast of England. John Escott has written The Missing Coins, Lost in New York and a number of other books.

The story takes place in an island in Greece in the 20th century.

The main characters are Costas, Eleni , Ashken.

Costas is a young boy who likes climbing. He wants to be the first person to climb the dangerous Eagle’s Rock. So he is very brave
Eleni is Costas’s sister. She Works in a shop which sells paintings. She likes swimming.
Ashken is a famous climber but he does not want to climb after the accident. He writes boks about climbing and earns his living.
Which character did you like most? Why?
I like Costas the most because he is very brave and I want to climb.
Which character you didn’t like? Why?
I did not like Mr Vitalis because he thinks he is a king and lives in a house in the Eagle’s Rock. He is dishonest and he likes money. He is rich and snob.

If I were Costas, I would tell Eleni that I would climb up the Eagle’s Rock.
If I were Eleni, I would tell my father that Costas climbed up the Eagle’ s Rock.

PLOT

Mr Holland came to the island. Costas thought climbing the Eagle’s Rock because he wanted to be famaus in the world. Costas , Eleni and Mr Kazakou met with Mr Holland in front of the holiday villa. Costas thought he had seen him before and said to Mr Holland but Mr Holland said he had not seen Coctas before. Costas saw Mr Holland’s photograph in the book but his real name is David Ashken then Costas told real Mr Holland to Eleni. David Ashken was very famous climber and he wrote book about climbing. Costas decided to climb up Eagle’s Rock but nobody climbed Eagle’ Rock and three people died. Mr Vitalis who owned the Eagle’s House wanted to take money from the insurance company. He offered money to Ashken to steal his paintings from the Eagle’s House. One day Costas climbed the Eagle’s Rock but Eleni saw him and followed. Costas came to the which was shaped like the beak of bird. This part is dangerous. Costas could not move because if he moved , he slipped. Eleni wanted to help from Ashken, Ashken said he could not climb because he lived accident five years ago but he saved Costas and ashken decided to climb, wrote book and refused to Mr Vitalis suggestion.

There is some moral value given in the story. Ashken did not steal the paintings although he needed money . He was honest.

The theme of the story is about famous climber who turns back to climbing.

Costas was very frigtened. He could not move. Eleni was very excited and she was frigtened too. She could not decide what to do.At first, she wanted to call her father but then she remember that her father could be very angry at Costas. Suddenly she remember Mr Holland. Costas had told her that Mr Holland was very famous climber. Then she quickly went to her father’s holiday villa but she could not find him at home and she started cry. She remembered that she had seen Mr Holland at the cafe which was opposite to her shop. She found him tehere but unfortunately he was drunk. It was impossible for him to understand what he told him then he camewith Eleni to the Eagle’s Rock. When Mr Holland saw Costas on the rock, he felt excited and he could not believe his eyes. Costas was seventeen metres away from the ground. Mr Holland wanted to sav ehim because Costas was very brave just like Mr Holland. He remembered his childhood. Mr Holland climbed up the Eagle’s Rock where Costas was but suddenly fell down to sea. Eleni screamed, run to the sea and swam to save him. At last Eleni could save her brother but Mr Holland was stil on the rock . Suddenly three of them heard the sound of police cars. Policemen and climber arrested Mr Holland because Mr vitalis called the police and told them that Mr Holland was going to steal his paintings but the policemen realised that Mr Holland was drunk, they did not believe Mr Vitalis. Mr Holland told policemen about Mr vitalis plan and they arrested Mr Vitalis. The insurance company gave lots of money to Mr Holland because he was honest!!!! They started to live at Eagle’s House happly…

After I had written to you, many things happened.
I met Mr Holland who came to our island and he stayed at my father’s holiday villa. When I saw Mr Holland, I thought I had seen him before. But Mr Holland said me he had not seen me before. When I looked through my book, I saw Mr Holland but his real name was David Ashken. David Ashken was a famous climber and he wrot boks about climbing. As I told you before there was a Eagle’s rock here. I thought climbing the Eagle’s Rock because I wanted to be a famous climber in the world. Isaw aShken with binoculars. He was looking at the Eagle’s Rock and Eagle’s House. I decided to climb up to Eagle’s Rock. One morning I was leaving the house early and I went to the Eagle’s Rockand I climbed. Eagle’s Rock was step and dangerous to climb. When I went to rock, Eleni followed me. She did not want met o climb there. I came to the rock which was shaped like the beak of a bird . The part was very dangerous. I could not move because if I moved, I would slip. Eleni went Ashken’s house and she told this event to Ashken. He said he could not climb but he climbed and saved me. Ashken who had not climbed for 5 years, climbed up the Eagle’s Rock to sav eme that day. So he started to climb and he decided to write boks about climbing again.
